EchoDepth: What It Is and How It Works
Scientific Foundation
EchoDepth is built on the Facial Action Coding System (FACS), a peer-reviewed taxonomy of 44 facial muscle movements (Action Units) developed by Paul Ekman and Wallace Friesen. FACS is the established scientific standard for objective facial expression analysis, with four decades of peer-reviewed research underpinning its use in psychological, medical, and security contexts.
The platform maps Action Unit activations to Valence-Arousal-Dominance (VAD) dimensional emotion space, producing structured numerical output suitable for defence and security audit trails. EchoDepth does not claim to detect emotions in the way consumer-facing products do — it produces granular physiological signal data that trained analysts interpret within their operational context.

EchoDepth is built by Logic Software, a Cardiff-based software engineering firm holding ISO 9001 and Cyber Essentials certification. Deployment Model
EchoDepth is deployable fully on-premise via Docker, with UK sovereign cloud as the default and air-gapped / SCIF-compatible deployment available for classified environments. All data processing occurs within UK borders. The platform integrates with SIEM, SOAR, LMS, and C2 systems via REST API and WebSocket.
